The 3rd African Forum on Mining (AFM), held from March 19 to 21, 2025, at the African Union Commission’s Headquarters, concluded with a strong call to action for African nations to harness their vast mineral wealth for sustainable development, industrialization, and economic transformation.

Every planting season, women in our villages wake up before dawn, their hands rough from years of tilling the land. They labour tirelessly under the scorching sun, sowing maize, cassava, pearl millet, sorghum, cowpeas, or peanuts.

On March 18, 2025, the African Union (AU), in collaboration with its Permanent Mission to the United Nations, hosted a Talent Engagement Session in New York.

Following a courtesy call to the President of the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction of Mozambique (INGD), H.E. Luisa Celma Meque, the joint monitoring mission held a technical consultative meeting with the Institute in Maputo from 28-28 February 2025.
