S.E. M. Paul Kagame, Président de la République du Rwanda, a été nommé pour diriger le processus de réformes institutionnelles de l'UA. Il a nommé un comité panafricain d'experts chargé d'examiner et de soumettre des propositions pour un système de gouvernance de l'UA qui permettrait à l'organisation d'être mieux placée pour relever les défis auxquels le continent est confronté afin de mettre en œuvre les programmes qui ont le plus grand impact sur la croissance et le développement de l'Afrique, de manière à concrétiser la vision de l'Agenda 2063.

2022 AU SUMMIT PRESS/MEDIA ACCREDITATION
Accreditation is required for all media who wish to cover the AU Summit. Media accreditation is strictly reserved for media professionals (print, photo, radio, television, film/documentary, news agencies and online media) who represent a bona fide media organization.
All journalists should apply through Online Registration System on the AU website https://accreditation.au.int/en/media-accreditation/35th-summit
Once journalists receive confirmation e-mail of their successful application from the Information and Communication Directorate (ICD), they should print it, along with their application documents and passport, to present upon their arrival to facilitate the visa process.
Journalists should also fill in and send the visa on arrival form available on the AU website: https://accreditation.au.int/sites/default/files/files/2022-01/visa-arrival-request-form-35th-au-summit-2022.pdf
The documents will be duly processed by the AUC and the Ethiopian government authorities. All qualified journalists to participate at the AU summit will be issued visa on arrival.
All journalists will be issued with journalist visas. No journalist will be allowed to attend the summit on a business or tourist visa.
Two methods of media registration for accreditation are available for journalists applying from outside Ethiopia.

After completing the accreditation form, the form and scanned copies of all the required documents should be sent via e-mail to the Information and Communication Directorate (ICD) through the e-mail: Media@africa-union.org

It is also advisable to carry hard copies of all the required documents in case of any necessary checks. Applications should reach the Directorate before 31 January 2022.

All media personnel operating from within Ethiopia must apply for accreditation through the Ethiopian Broadcasting Authority by providing the necessary details. Journalists will need to get two badges:
4.1. Yellow fever cards will be required at the ports of entry for everyone travelling from yellow fever designated countries.
4.2. COVID-19 precaution:
Accredited media personnel bringing technical equipment with them to Ethiopia will be subjected to full Customs Control. Journalists are requested to send their list of equipment together with their application for accreditation. (Media equipment form is available on the summit accreditation page)

A media center with facilities for print, online and electronic media will be available at the Summit venue. Access to media facilities will be available only to accredited media representatives.
The Information and Communication Directorate will help media to arrange interviews with the leadership of the AU.

Briefings by the AUC leadership and leaders of the various African Union organs and programmes will take place at the summit venue. AUC will organize press of the AUC and other AU Organs. The schedule of the press conference will be posted in advance and journalists will be notified by e-mail on the updated details. A text message will also be sent to their mobile phone, if a mobile number has been provided.
Opening and closing sessions of the meetings are usually open to journalists, depending on availability of space within the meeting rooms. Media practitioners will also be informed on other open sessions, and how to access the plenary halls.
A briefing session will be held for all accredited media during the Summit. A notice will be circulated regarding the time and date of the briefing.
Opening sessions and press conferences of the Summit will be streaming live. The livestream link will be disseminated closer to the dates for information and for the public to follow live all the open sessions worldwide.
These feeds will be made available through the media centre and on the AU social media platforms. Media will also be notified of all live streamed meetings via the AU website and e-mail.
Telephone SIM cards will be available at the summit venue on a commercial basis.

Accommodation will be on self-arrangement basis. Journalists are advised to make their booking early to avoid last minute inconveniences. A list of Addis Ababa hotels will soon be available on the African Union website.
