The African Union Commission (AUC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Nuur Mohamud Sheekh as the new Spokesperson to the AU Commission Chairperson, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf. He succeeds Ms. Ebba Kalondo, who has successfully completed her tenure in this role.

Nuur Mohamud Sheekh is a seasoned Somali diplomat and communications expert, recognized for his extensive experience in international development, humanitarian advocacy, and diplomacy. His previous roles include senior positions at the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), where he served as the Spokesperson. Nuur has also held key roles in various international organizations, focusing on policy advocacy, strategic communications, and crisis response.

The African Union Commission is dedicated to fostering unity and cooperation among African nations. With Nuur Mohamud Sheekh at the helm of the Office of the Spokesperson, the Commission aims to enhance its outreach and engagement with its member states and other stakeholders.
