WHAT:           A team from the African Union (AU) Human Resources Management Directorate (HRMD) to Participate at the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69).

WHEN:          From 10 to 20 March 2025

WHERE:       United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA

Key AU HRMD Events at CSW69 will include the following:

  • Tuesday 11 March from 1 pm - 2:30 pm: AU Careers Masterclass with AU Youth Envoy at Berkeley College.
  • Monday 17 March 2025: High-Level Interactive Dialogue — Inclusive Development, Shared Prosperity, and Decent Work.
  •  Wednesday March 19, 2025, from 1pm - 2pm: AU HRMD Talent Management Symposium — “Navigating Careers in the African Union – Opportunities, Skills, and Growth” to be held at the AU Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the United Nations

WHO:        A delegation from the Human Resources Management Directorate (HRMD) of the African Union (AU), led by Ms. Nadege Tandu, Director of HRM.

WHY: CSW69 is a pivotal platform for amplifying the AU’s vision for a gender-equal, prosperous Africa. HRMD will take advantage of this global platform to ensure effective and impactful participation of the HRMD during the Talent Management Symposium and the High-Level Dialogue, where Director Nadege Tandu, is expected to share insights on the AU’s strategic efforts to foster women’s leadership, enhance talent management, and advance gender parity across the continent, among others.

In addition, a Career Fair will be organised to inspire and equip future leaders to contribute meaningfully to the continent’s transformation. In alignment with the AU’s commitment to gender equality and youth empowerment as outlined in Agenda 2063, the HRMD will host a Talent Management symposium on Wednesday, 19th March 2025, under the theme: “Navigating Careers in the African Union – Opportunities, Skills, and Growth”. This event will offer invaluable insights into AU career pathways, essential skills for success, and practical guidance on navigating the AU recruitment process, while providing direct engagement opportunities with AU professionals and talent development experts.

The HRMD’s presence at CSW69 underscores the AU’s dedication to strengthening institutional capacity, empowering women and youth, and driving sustainable development. By connecting with civil society, policymakers, and global leaders, the HRMD seeks to build partnerships that will accelerate progress towards achieving gender parity and inclusive growth.
