Addis Ababa, 14 April 2025- The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), H.E. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf commends the people and authorities of the Gabonese Republic for the peaceful conduct of the recent national elections, following the preliminary report of the AU Election Observation Mission.

He welcomes the calm and orderly manner of the electoral process, which reflects the Gabonese people’s commitment to democracy and stability. He further applauds all political actors for respecting the rule of law during this important democratic exercise.

The African Union reaffirms its support to the Government and people of Gabon in strengthening democratic institutions and upholding constitutional order.
