MEDIA ANNOUNCEMENT/ 26th AU SUMMIT

Media representatives are kindly informed that the 26th African Union Summit is scheduled to take place from the 21st to the 31st of January 2016, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The theme of the Summit is: “ 2016: African Year of Human Rights with particular focus on the Rights of Women”

Specific dates for the meetings of the different AU organs and decision-making bodies during the Summit will be as follows:

21st – 23rd January 2016:
Thirty-First (31th) Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC)
Venue: New Conference Center, AUC

25 January 2016:
Retreat of the Executive Council to hold in Mekele, Ethiopia

27th – 28th January 2016:
Twenty Eighth (28th) Ordinary Session of the Executive Council
Venue: New Conference Center, AUC

30th – 31st January 2016:
Twenty Sixth (26th) Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
Venue: (Mandela Plenary Hall) New Conference Center, AUC
