Press Conference of His Excellency President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, Chair of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance on the African Union Malaria Progress Report

What: The African Union Commission and the African Leaders Malaria Alliance will host a joint press briefing to share the latest developments and challenges in the fight to end malaria in Africa, address NTDs, and the broader health and development agenda. The session will highlight the outcomes of the 2023 African Union Malaria Progress Report tabled at the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly. The report highlights the progress, challenges, and future directions in responding to malaria, NTDs, and the broader health and development agenda. It also highlights key action, accountability, resource mobilization, and accountability efforts to eliminate malaria, and NTDs, address Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health, and the broader health and development agenda. The report also outlines the key asks to end malaria on the continent in line with continental commitments including the Catalytic Framework to End AIDS, TB and Eliminate Malaria in Africa by 2030, the Continental Framework and African Common Position on NTDs, Africa Health Strategy (2016-2030) and Agenda 2063.
