AUC Chairperson received H.E. Jens Hanefeld, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ethiopia & Permanent Observer to the AU
The Chairperson of the AU Commission H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf received H.E. Jens Hanefeld, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ethiopia & Permanent Observer to the AU. The Ambassador reaffirmed Germany's commitment to supporting the implementation of the AfCFTA, recognising it as a key driver of Africa’s economic integration & development.
The Chairperson expressed appreciation for Germany’s longstanding partnership with Africa, including its vital contributions to peacekeeping, preventive diplomacy, and institutional support to the AUC.
On Somalia, the Chairperson & Mr Mr Hanefeld underscored the importance of a seamless transition from ATMIS to AUSSOM.
Ambassador Hanefeld commended the Chairperson’s diplomatic leadership & continued engagement on the situations in Sudan, the DRC, & South Sudan.
