What:           The signing ceremony of the Charter for Peace and National Reconciliation by Libyan stakeholders, as part of the African Union’s ongoing efforts to support the peace and reconciliation process in Libya.  The signing ceremony will be followed by a press briefing, to be addressed by H.E Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo and Chair of the AU High-Level Committee on Libya. 

When:         14 February 2025.

  • Opening:        1500 Hrs EAT
  • Press Briefing: 1700 Hrs EAT

Where:       Plenary Hall, Old Conference Building, African Union HQ

Who:            The event will be chaired by H.E. Denis Sassou Nguesso, Chair of the AU High-Level Committee on Libya.  Attendees will include Member States of the Committee, representatives from the African Union, concerned Regional Economic Communities/Regional Mechanisms (RECs/RMs), the United Nations (UN), the League of Arab States, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the European Union (EU), international partners and other invited guests.
