Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Opening of the 43rd Ordinary Session of the AU Permanent Representatives’ Committee
INVITATION FOR MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES
What: Forty Third (43rd) Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) of the African Union to be held under the theme of the year: “Building resilience in nutrition on the African continent: Accelerate the Human Capital, Social and Economic Development’
Who: The 43rd Ordinary Session of the PRC is organized by the African Union Commission (AUC).
When: The virtual Session will be held from 20 to 21 January 2022.
Where: Livestream link will be provided prior to the official opening ceremony of the PRC .
The PRC Session will be held through videoconference, the Opening ceremony will held be virtually on 20 January 2022,10:00.am The opening ceremony will include among others, a statement by the Chairperson of the Commission and statement by the Chairperson of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC).
Objectives:
The PRC Session will consider different reports including: Report of the 4th Ordinary Session of the STC on Agriculture, Rural Development, Water, and Environment (ARDWE), Report of the 4th Ordinary Session of the STC on Finance, Monetary Affairs, Economic Planning, and Integration, Report of the 2nd Extraordinary Session of the STC on Finance, Report of the 3rd Ordinary Session of the STC on Trade, Industry and Minerals, Progress Report on Ratification of the Treaty to establish the African Medicine Agency, the Activity Report of the African Court on Human and People’s Rights, and the Combined 50th and 51st Activity Report of the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights.
The Session will also consider draft agenda and draft decisions of the 40th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and agenda of the 35th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly, scheduled to take place 2 - 3 and 5 - 6 February 2022 respectively.

The meeting of the PRC will be held through Videoconference with participation of the Ambassadors of the African Union Member States, as well as AU officials.
