Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Addis Ababa, 8 April 2015. H. E Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission received a $ 1 million check fromH. E Osman RizaYavuzalp, Turkish Ambassador to Ethiopia.
This contribution is earmarked for the proposed projects under the “Matrix of Major Priority Projects of the Turkey-Africa partnership 2015-2019” which was agreed upon at the II Turkey-Africa Partnership Summit, held in Malabo on 19-21 November 2014.
“At this point, Turkey’s contribution is crucial to the AU and will go along way in providing support in the implementation of a series of activities under the theme of the year, women’s empowerment” Mr. Mwencha said.
The Deputy Chairperson also mentioned the ongoing economic and trade cooperation between Turkey and Africa and highlighted the necessity tostrengthen the relation in all areas of common interest including counter-terrorism.
H. E Osman RizaYavuzalp, on his part, stressed the fact that the Turkish contribution reflects the constant commitment of his country to support Africa’s development.
“Turkey will pursue its cooperation with Africa in different fields such as agriculture, energy, security and human resources development” he asserted.
