Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 01 April 2015. The Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Mission to the League of Arab States, Dr. Bisher H. Al-Khasawneh, presented on 1st April 2015, his letter of Credence’s to H. E Mr. Erastus Mwencha, Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
Deputy Chairperson Mwencha expressed appreciation to H.M. King Abdallah of Jordan for his initiative. “We have been following with keen interest the situation in the Middle East and the important role played by the Kingdom of Jordan” he indicated. He stressed the need to work on a common agenda: “not only on Peace and Security issues, but also in Economy and other areas of development.”
On his part, Dr. Bisher H. Al-Khasawneh reiterated his country’s interest for engaging in partnerships with Africa. “We, always believed in Africa and its great potential” he said, adding that, “ We know integration is key and we highly value the way the African Union Commission spearheads the African Agenda”.
