Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

INVITATION TO THE MEDIA
CLOSING AND FINAL PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE 21st AU SUMMIT
You are invited to cover the closing ceremony of the 21st AU Summit and witness the release of the milestone proclamation of the Golden Jubilee of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and the African Union (AU). The closing session expected to be at 12:00 will be followed by the final press conference marking the conclusion of the 21st AU Summit at end of business. It will be addressed by Mr Hailemariam Desalegn, Prime minister of Ethiopia and Chairperson of the AU and Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the AU Commission.
The press conference will address the outcomes of the 21st AU Summit and the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and the AU.
The press conference will be held in the Plenary Hall, at the new AU Conference Center, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Representatives of the media will be informed in due course of the time.
