Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

What: Release of AUEOM Preliminary Statement of Findings on the 26 December 2017 Presidential Runoff election in the Republic of Liberia
When: 27th December 2017
Where: BOULEVARD HOTEL Conference Room, Monrovia, Liberia.
Time: Starting from 5:00 P.M.
Who: The African Union Election Observation Mission to Liberia in collaboration with ECOWAS Election Observation Mission to Liberia.
About AUEOM:
African Union Election observation serves the following purposes:
* safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process;
* promoting the openness and transparency of the process;
* enhancing public confidence;
* diffusing potential tensions;
* deterring improper practices and attempts at fraud;
* increasing political credibility;
* contributing to the acceptance of election results; and
* disseminating and strengthening international standards and electoral best practices
What the AUEOM observes:
The legal framework for elections and its implementation;
The work of the electoral commission;
The campaign activities;
The role of state institutions;
The role of women, youth and civil society in the electoral process;
The conduct of the media – both public and private;
Voting, counting, tabulation and announcement of result;
Election disputes resolution mechanisms including complaints and appeals process related to the elections;
The general environment in which the elections are being conducted.
