Location:                           ARC Headquarters is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa, but is expected to be relocated to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The position will be initially based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and expected to relocate to Abidjan within contract period. The selected candidate will be expected to relocate accordingly.

Description:                      The African Risk Capacity (ARC) is seeking a suitably qualified candidate for the occupancy of the position of Group Director General (GDG) with a broad skill – set to fit into a critical role of bringing impactful leadership, strategic guidance and oversight to its performance. In line with the adaptive governance structure, the Group DG will actively lead the completion and consolidation of the reform process, navigating skillfully the critical change management activities, ensuring a successful transition of the organization. The Group DG will be tasked with adapting the operational practices of the Group, including creation of a new culture of collaborative effort between the public and private sector arms of the ARC Group. The effort will also involve steering the Group definitively towards financial sustainability and functional accommodation of different stakeholders legitimate interests.

Only Nationals of State Parties to the Agreement for the Establishment of the ARC Agency are eligible to apply. The countries are: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Comoros, Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Mali, Malawi, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Togo, Zambia and Zimbabwe
