Signing Ceremonies and Deposit of Instruments of Ratification during COVID-19 Pandemic

As part of its mandated and to ensure the continuity of service, the Office of the Legal Counsel has been organizing signing ceremonies and deposit of instruments of ratification from African Union Member States. However, OLC ensures that security measures to fight against the Covid19 are strictly followed.

In that regards, OLC has received the instruments of ratification of the Treaty for the establishment of the African Medicines Agency (AMA Treaty) from Burkina Faso and the Republic of Mali.

The Office of the Legal Counsel has also received from the Republic of Angola, the instrument of ratification of the African Union Convention on Cyber Security and Personal Data Protection and from the Republic of Mali, the instrument of ratification of the African Road Safety Charter.

During the same period, the Republic of Angola, the Republic of Mali, the Republic of Gabon and the Republic of Rwanda signed respectively the following treaties:

  1. the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights on the Rights of Older Persons ;
  2. the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities ; and
  3. The Treaty for the establishment of the African Medicines Agency (AMA Treaty).
  4. The African Road Safety Charter.
