AUC Chairperson applauds peaceful and historic elections in Namibia

Addis Ababa, 4 December 2024: The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, wishes to warmly congratulate President-Elect H.E. Netumbo Nan- di-Ndaitwah on her historic election victory to become Namibia's first ever female President following the announcement of official results by the Electoral Commission of Namibia of the Presidential and National Assembly elections held on 27 November 2024.

The Chairperson further commends Namibian voters and all national stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the polls.

The Chairperson further encourages all actors to address any differences through the established legal architecture, should any disputes arise.

The Chairperson expresses appreciation to H.E. Speciosa Wandira-Kazibwe, former Vice President of the Republic of Uganda for leading the African Union Election Observation Mission to Namibia.
