The African Union’s Social Welfare, Drug Control and Crime Prevention Division within the Department of Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Madagascar, will host a 4-day continental capacity-building workshop focused on combating synthetic drug trafficking in Africa. The workshop will bring together law enforcement professionals, customs officials, judiciary members, and international organizations to enhance Africa’s capacity to address synthetic drug trafficking and related organized crime.

This event is crucial in fostering cross-border cooperation, sharing best practices, and developing comprehensive strategies to strengthen law enforcement and the rule of law across the continent. Participants will include representatives from law enforcement, customs, judiciary, and international organizations such as INTERPOL, UNODC, AFRIPOL, and other key stakeholders working in drug control and crime prevention.
