Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

What: Forty First (41st) Ordinary Session of the Permanent
Representatives Committee (PRC) to be held under the
theme of the year: “Arts, Culture and Heritage: Levers for
Building the Africa We Want”.
Who: The 41st Ordinary Session of the PRC is organized by the
African Union Commission (AUC).
When: The virtual meeting will be organized from 20 to 21 January
2021.

Official Opening of the PRC: The PRC meeting will be held through videoconference, the Opening ceremony will held be virtually on 20 January 2021, at 10:00 a.m. The opening ceremony will include among others, a statement by the Chairperson of the Commission and statement by the Chairperson of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC).
Objectives:
The PRC Session will discuss different reports including: the activities of the PRC Sub-Committees, Reports of the Specialized Technical Committees (STCs) held in the year 2020, Reports of the Commission, other AU Organs and the AU Specialized Agencies.
The Session will also consider draft agenda and draft decisions of the 38th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and agenda of the 34th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly, scheduled to take place 3 - 4 and 6 - 7 February 2021 respectively.

The meeting of the PRC will be held through Videoconference with participation of the Ambassadors of the African Union Member States, as well as AU officials.
