Agenda 2063 is the blueprint and master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future. It is the strategic framework for delivering on Africa’s goal for inclusive and sustainable development and is a concrete manifestation of the pan-African drive for unity, self-determination, freedom, progress and collective prosperity pursued under Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance.
H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, was appointed to lead the AU institutional reforms process. He appointed a pan-African committee of experts to review and submit proposals for a system of governance for the AU that would ensure the organisation was better placed to address the challenges facing the continent with the aim of implementing programmes that have the highest impact on Africa’s growth and development so as to deliver on the vision of Agenda 2063.

38th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee
INVITATION TO MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES
What: Thirty Eighth (38th) Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) to be held under the theme of the year: “Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa”.
Who: The 38th Ordinary Session of the PRC is organized by the African Union Commission (AUC)
When: 17-18 June 2019
Where: Medium Conference Hall, African Union Headquarters
Official Opening of the PRC:
The PRC meeting will officially open on 17 June 2019, at 9:00am in the presence of PRC members and leadership and officials of the AU Commission. The opening ceremony will include among others, a speech by the Chairperson of the PRC, and a welcome remark by the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, followed by a group photo of the Ambassadors with the members of the Commission.
Objectives: The PRC will discuss draft reports and prepare the agenda of the 1st AU-RECs Mid-Year Coordination meeting of the Executive Council scheduled to take place 4-5 July 2019, in Niamey, Niger. They will also prepare recommendations for consideration.
Participants: The meeting of the PRC will bring together all the Ambassadors of the African Union Member States, as well as AU officials.
Journalists are invited to cover the opening of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) session on Monday 17 June 2019, at 9:00am, in the Medium Conference Hall, AU Commission.
