Following an invitation from the Government of the Republic of Mozambique to the African Union to participate as international observer in its forthcoming presidential, parliamentary and provincial elections scheduled for 15 October 2019, His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), approved the deployment of a pre-election assessment mission to Mozambique.
