Maseru, Kingdom of Lesotho, 28 May 2017: Following an invitation from the Government of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), His Excellency Moussa Faki Mahamat, has deployed an African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to the Kingdom of Lesotho to observe the country’s National Assembly Election scheduled for 3 June 2017.

Maseru, 04 May, 2017. –The 29th Ordinary Session of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) was officially opened on 02 May 2017, in Maseru, The Kingdom of Lesotho.
The Opening Ceremony was attended by Senior Representatives from the Governments of Chad, Comoros, Cote d’Ivoire, Tanzania, Lesotho, Senegal, and Kenya; Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Representatives from the United Nation Offices; National and International Organisations CSOs; and the Media.

Maseru, 7 December 2015: A 5-day Building Resources for Democracy, Governance and Elections (BRIDGE) Training has begun today in Maseru, the Kingdom of Lesotho, for the staff of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). The training on “Civic Education and Voter Information” has the objective to help the staff of IEC to better carry out its constitutional mandate relating to civic education and voter information and enhance political participation. Participants for the training are drawn from senior management and implementers of Civic Education and Voter Information within the IEC.
